Barracuda Networks has announced significant advancements to its Email Protection service, aimed at helping organisations defend against the rising tide of sophisticated cyberattacks.

“Email remains the number one attack vector, and securing it has never been more urgent,” stated Neal Bradbury, chief product officer at Barracuda. “As threats grow more advanced, so do the security tools organisations need to manage, creating complexity that overwhelms many security teams.” For CISOs and CIOs, the challenge lies in balancing robust email security with the limited resources often available in their organisations.

Barracuda's Email Protection now offers flexible deployment options, allowing organisations to implement the service in-line or through API integration without modifying mail exchange records. This flexibility enables businesses to achieve immediate protection tailored to their specific IT environments.

A notable feature of the updates is proactive account compromise prevention. By monitoring both internal and outbound email activity, Barracuda can detect early signs of phishing and suspicious behaviour. This capability empowers IT teams to respond swiftly to potential threats, which is crucial in a region where cybercriminals increasingly exploit sophisticated technologies.

Additionally, Barracuda provides value-driven plans that encompass essential layers of email security, including prevention, detection, automated incident response, and email authentication. This comprehensive approach allows organisations to protect themselves without having to manage multiple disparate tools, simplifying the security stack for CIOs.

The introduction of complimentary onboarding and setup support further streamlines the deployment process, ensuring that organisations are optimally protected from the outset.

As organisations grapple with escalating cyber threats, advancements in email protection provide a timely response for CISOs and CIOs looking to bolster their security infrastructure while ensuring that solutions remain manageable and effective.
