Hexnode has unveiled Synapse, an agentic artificial intelligence orchestration layer designed to coordinate IT and security workflows across its products and connected enterprise systems.
Synapse is intended to turn requests, alerts and system events into coordinated actions while keeping activity governed, approved where necessary and traceable. The launch addresses a common operational challenge: IT and security teams often have to move manually between endpoint, identity, threat-management, human resources and service-management platforms.
“If you look at the real work of IT, nothing ever happens inside just one system,” said Apu Pavithran, chief executive and founder of Hexnode. “Onboarding a person touches identity, devices, and your HR system. Responding to a threat touches the endpoint, the user’s access, and the ticket.”
Synapse draws native context from Hexnode Unified Endpoint Management, Hexnode XDR and Hexnode IdP, while extending workflows into surrounding enterprise systems. Rather than requiring administrators to coordinate every hand-off between consoles, the platform uses specialist AI agents to assess requests and alerts, determine appropriate next steps and act within administrator-defined guardrails.
The initial agents include a Device Agent for diagnostics, compliance-drift remediation, patching, vulnerability remediation and device provisioning; an Identity Agent for access requests and identity lifecycle operations; and a Threat Agent for alert triage, investigation and containment.
Organisations can also configure custom agents for their own tools and knowledge sources. Hexnode said Synapse can coordinate sequences involving several products in a single workflow.
For example, a request to onboard a new employee can read the individual’s human resources profile, create an identity, assign application licences, push device configuration and endpoint protection policies, and record the related IT ticket. If a workflow is delayed, the platform can recover and continue when the required resource becomes available, according to the company.
Governance is central to the offering. Routine activity can proceed within predefined limits, while sensitive actions such as wiping a device, isolating an endpoint or changing privileged access are routed to a named approver. Uncertain decisions are also returned to a person.
“Routine work can happen on its own. Anything consequential comes back to a person, and if the system is not sure, that comes back to a person too,” Pavithran said. “Autonomy without that control is not something an IT team will ever deploy.”
The Execution Centre records what triggered a request, what the agent decided, who approved an action and what was executed. Hexnode said teams can browse and export the history to support audits and investigations.
At launch, Synapse integrates with ServiceNow, Zendesk, Microsoft Entra ID and BambooHR, alongside Hexnode UEM, XDR and IdP. The company plans to expand the integration catalogue and core capabilities; its own product page says the service is being opened through an invite-only trial.
