Workday, Inc.’s latest global study reveals the optimism of leaders about the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) despite trust and data accessibility concerns.

Key findings:

The report, based on 2,355 business leaders examined how AI and ML will impact the future of business. Key findings include:

· 98% of all business leaders said there would be some immediate business benefit from AI and ML

· 47% of all business leaders believe AI and ML will significantly amplify human potential.

· 43% of all business leaders have trust concerns about the use of AI and ML.

· 59% of respondents said their organisations' data is somewhat or completely siloed.

· Only 4% of all respondents said their data is fully accessible.

AI and ML optimism

Jim Stratton

The majority (98%) of CEOs surveyed said there would be some immediate business benefit from implementing AI and ML, and they are positive that these technologies will increase productivity, data-driven decision-making, and improve collaboration. However, almost half (49%) of CEOs said are not yet well-equipped to embrace AI and ML technologies.

"Despite some uncertainty, leaders are optimistic that AI and ML will augment their workforce and drive productivity," said Jim Stratton, chief technology officer, at Workday. "Trust is paramount to embracing these benefits, and building trust require the right data foundation and commitment to governance. By implementing trustworthy solutions that prioritise data quality and transparency, companies can reap the rewards of AI and ML across their organisation."
