As cyberattacks increase in number and complexity, Microsoft recommends generative AI-powered solutions for maximum protection at less cost.

Irina Nechaeva

“AI creates both new threats and opportunities for defense. We need to augment the work of our skilled security professionals by using AI with lightning-fast processing speeds, rapid pattern recognition, and continual improvements of generative AI,” said Irina Nechaeva, general manager of Identity & Network Access at Microsoft.

“Going forward, organisations looking to minimise their vulnerabilities must respond by modernising their organisational skills, mindset, approach, and technology.”

Augment human strengths

AI can automate and augment threat detection, response, analysis, and prediction. It can also leverage large language models (LLMs) in generating natural language insights and recommendations from complex data. This enables defenders to speed up their response and make it more efficient.

Security Copilot

Microsoft recommends Security Copilot, the first generative AI security product that aids defenders with their speed and scale.

“Microsoft’s adoption of generative AI in security solutions has brought end-to-end security beyond the traditional protection,” said Abbas Kudrati, chief cybersecurity advisor at Microsoft Asia.

“With Security Copilot, security analysts can move faster, requiring a shorter time for response and remediation, and more time to focus on high-value tasks. It customises every query with a natural language interface and language translation, which essentially simplifies the complex process for every organisation and unlocks new business opportunities for them.”
