Palo Alto Networks is set to broaden its observability platform with new digital experience monitoring capabilities, combining real user monitoring and synthetic testing to give organisations a clearer view of application performance from the backend to the end user. The move is designed to help enterprises spot and resolve issues before they disrupt customers or employees.
The company said it intends to acquire Embrace, a user-focused observability provider, to add high-fidelity Real User Monitoring to its platform. It is also launching Synthetics, built with its Autonomous Digital Experience Management team, to validate application performance from multiple locations and uncover failures before they affect users.
As applications become more autonomous and complex, Palo Alto Networks said legacy monitoring tools are increasingly too fragmented and costly to provide the full picture. The new capabilities aim to unify infrastructure, application and user experience insights in a single interface, helping customers eliminate blind spots, reduce downtime risk and protect revenue and brand reputation.
Lee Klarich, chief product and technology officer at Palo Alto Networks, said organisations need to see the whole journey, from the moment a user taps or clicks to what happens on the backend.
He said the combination of Embrace’s real user monitoring, Palo Alto Networks’ synthetic monitoring and Cortex AgentiX would allow customers not only to identify issues, but also to automatically fix them across their environment.
The broader industry trend is clear: observability is moving beyond infrastructure metrics and into business-critical digital experience management.
