SonicWall has announced the launch of its Generation 8 portfolio, featuring nine new firewalls designed specifically for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).
The Generation 8 firewalls are part of SonicWall's integrated approach to cybersecurity, combining advanced protection, intelligent cloud management, and built-in Zero Trust capabilities.
Bob VanKirk, president and CEO of SonicWall, commented on the initiative, stating, “We’re not just delivering a new set of high-performance firewalls; we’re preparing our partners for the latest threats and market requirements.”
Key features of the Generation 8 portfolio include SonicWall Unified Management, which offers a single cloud console for managing firewalls, network policies, and access controls, thereby reducing operational complexity.
Each firewall comes equipped with embedded licenses for next-generation secure remote access, simplifying cloud access control deployment.
The introduction of SonicSentry Co-Managed Security provides optional 24/7 monitoring, patching, and monthly reporting, backed by SonicWall experts. SonicWall also offers an industry-first embedded cyber warranty, providing $200,000 coverage with every managed firewall, enhancing partner confidence and customer trust.
SonicWall's chief revenue officer, Jason Carter claims that today’s MSPs and MSSPs require more than just advanced technology; they need comprehensive support to scale their businesses effectively.
He cited the importance of flexible licensing and co-managed security services, stating, “We’re giving partners every advantage to grow margins and meet their customers’ evolving needs.”
SonicWall’s Generation 8 release features new firewall models tailored for various environments, from ultra-compact options for small offices to high-performance models for mid-sized enterprises. Each model is built for optimal security and scalability, equipped with cloud-native management and the latest SonicOS enhancements.
Designed to address real-world challenges, SonicWall's platform supports a range of use cases, including security for cloud-first organisations, multi-tenant environments, and compliance-friendly co-management with built-in health reports.
With flexible billing options and no long-term commitments, SonicWall aims to enable recurring revenue for partners while simplifying service delivery.
