Despite Thailand’s notable progress in cybersecurity, highlighted by its ranking in the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index, significant challenges persist. An industry report indicates that only 7% of organisations in Thailand have achieved a “mature” level of cybersecurity readiness, suggesting that most are still in the process of developing effective systems to combat modern threats.
In the context of rising digital adoption and security demands, Marcus Teo, chief revenue officer at Zimbra stated, “As institutions face increasing pressure to modernise while staying secure, our partnership with ServerToday ensures they have access to solutions that are both locally grounded and globally trusted.”
A longstanding collaboration between Thai IT firm ServerToday and email provider Zimbra is expected to enhance the cybersecurity framework of Thailand’s government. With the deployment of over 16,500 secure email accounts across key ministries, including the State Audit Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this partnership is anticipated to fortify the nation’s digital communications.
The partnership aims to protect sensitive governmental information, ensuring data remains within national control. Key achievements include the installation of 4,500 secure mailboxes at the State Audit Office, 2,000 for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and 10,000 at the Provincial Waterworks Authority.
The increasing need for secure and locally managed email systems is evident. ServerToday provides fully managed services on the ground, covering cloud infrastructure, security, backup, and 24/7 technical support. Zimbra offers advanced technology features such as encryption, two-factor authentication, and collaborative tools that meet stringent government standards.
Sorachat Chaithanee, ServerToday CTO says the collaboration is built on trust and a shared commitment to protecting national interests. He noted that the partnership has given government clients greater control over their communications, allowing them to operate with peace of mind regarding data security.
