Ransomware attacks remain a harsh fact of life for most businesses with collective ransomware losses totaling over $1 billion in 2023 alone. This financial toll is exacerbated by the resulting data loss and downtime, with some estimates suggesting upwards of $1 million in losses per hour of downtime for larger businesses.
Zerto has unveiled its new Zerto Cloud Vault, a service designed to enhance cyber resilience through managed service providers (MSPs). As ransomware attacks continue to plague businesses globally, the Cloud Vault aims to provide comprehensive protection and recovery solutions.
The Zerto Cloud Vault is built on the existing Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault and offers a fully managed, cloud-based solution that includes features such as logical air-gapping, immutability, and clean room recovery. With ransomware losses exceeding $1 billion in 2023, the need for effective data protection strategies has become imperative for organisations of all sizes.
Zerto's initial MSP partners for the Cloud Vault include Assurestor, Converge, LincolnIT, and Verinext, each bringing specialised expertise to help clients develop tailored cyber resilience strategies. Jim O’Dorisio, senior vice president and general manager of HPE Storage, stated, “Zerto’s disaster recovery and cyber resilience solutions offer peace of mind to businesses struggling to combat ransomware attacks. Leveraging our cyber resilience capabilities, MSPs will be able to bring fully managed Cloud Vault services to even more organisations.”
Key features of the Zerto Cloud Vault include managed cyber services, real-time encryption detection, and immutable data copies that retain data for up to 12 months. The solution allows for non-disruptive testing and clean room recovery, enabling businesses to validate data and scrub malware before restoring operations.
Stephen Young, executive director at Assurestor, noted, “Our Gold Standard for cyber recovery considers a product’s recoverability readiness and speed of data recovery; we found that Zerto substantially delivered on all these points.”
Other MSP partners echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of the Cloud Vault in offering enhanced protection against ransomware. “Having the ability to offer a cloud vault with Zerto technology gives our clients added protection against ransomware and peace of mind,” said John Antimisiaris, Executive Vice President at LincolnIT.
With the launch of the Zerto Cloud Vault, businesses now have a robust tool to combat the persistent threat of cyberattacks, positioning themselves for a more secure digital future.
