Forcepoint has announced the expansion of its Self-Aware Data Security platform to encompass enterprise databases and structured data sources. The company claims that it is the first company tto extend its AI Mesh Data Classification technology across both structured and unstructured data, delivering unified Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and adaptive data loss prevention in a single solution.
As organisations in Asia accelerate their adoption of SaaS, cloud services, and AI technologies, the management of structured data remains an area of critical vulnerability. Traditional data management practices often overlook databases and data lakes, which are essential for housing customer records, financial assets, and intellectual property.
By extending AI Mesh Data Classification to structured sources, Forcepoint enables organisations to discover, classify, and remediate risks in real time through a single-policy framework.

“Forcepoint’s AI-native approach helps our security teams quickly spot and respond to real data risks, while making it easier for data owners to have full confidence in their information assets,” stated Enda Kyne, chief technology and operations officer at FBD Insurance.
“As threats grow more sophisticated, having a partner that truly understands our data and delivers security that can learn, adapt, and protect at scale is everything we need.” Enda Kyne
The Self-Aware Data Security model is designed to create a continuous, adaptive loop that integrates risk visibility with protection. This model analyses context, posture, and intent while discovering sensitive data, classifying it, prioritising risks, remediating exposures, and safeguarding information across all environments.
For example, it can coach users in real-time, adjust access permissions, or block attempts to share sensitive data externally.

“Too many DSPM products stop at reports, making databases invisible to teams," said Naveen Palavalli, chief product and marketing officer at Forcepoint.
He pointed out that Forcepoint is delivering Self-Aware Data Security that provides consistent visibility, access, and control across both structured and unstructured data everywhere.
"It’s a leap forward in understanding dark data and shadow AI, ensuring compliance while unifying security that adapts as risks evolve,” said Palavalli.
The expanded DSPM capabilities enable organisations to simplify security measures, reduce risks and costs, and confidently accelerate their AI and cloud initiatives.
Leaders gain insights into data location, access patterns, and associated risks through a unified system. Compliance teams benefit from nearly 2,000 policy templates, automated reporting, and explainable, auditable AI, which helps them navigate complex regulations more effectively.
