Cohesity has announced a deeper integration with MongoDB, enhancing data protection and recovery capabilities for large, mission-critical deployments.

This integration leverages the MongoDB Third Party Backup Ops Manager API, providing advanced performance and control for backup and recovery processes. The solution is designed to meet the stringent resilience requirements of global banking, financial services, and Fortune 500 enterprises.

The enhanced integration, available for Cohesity DataProtect, addresses the growing concern of cyber resilience, particularly in the face of increasing ransomware attacks.

According to Cohesity research, many organisations overestimate their cyber resilience, overlooking deficiencies in data recovery speed and capabilities. The survey revealed that only 2% of respondents believe they could recover data and restore business processes within 24 hours of a cyberattack. This highlights the urgent need for faster and more reliable data recovery solutions.

Key capabilities of the integration include greater speed through parallel data streams, enabling faster processing of billions of objects. Intelligent backups can restore MongoDB databases up to 4X faster than traditional methods.

The scale-out architecture provides robust scalability, supporting petabyte-sized datasets on a single platform. Global, variable-length deduplication and compression further reduce data footprint.

Enhanced security features include immutable WORM storage, data encryption in flight and at rest, continuous data protection, secure SSL authentication, and a multi-layer defense posture based on Zero Trust security principles. These measures provide additional layers of protection against data loss and unauthorised access.
