Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security, has introduced significant advancements to its data protection and security portfolio, aimed at enhancing enterprise AI resilience. New features include partnerships for sovereign cloud solutions, improved threat detection capabilities, and a simplified packaging strategy for midsize organisations.
Vasu Murthy, chief product officer at Cohesity, stated, “AI is increasing both the value of data and the risk surrounding it.

"Resilience today requires the ability to detect threats early, recover to a clean state, and maintain control across complex environments.” Vasu Murthy
The updates outlined are designed to help organisations operationalise AI while reinforcing their data protection and security infrastructures.
New Sovereign Cloud Partnerships and Security Enhancements
Cohesity is expanding its sovereign cloud ecosystem through collaborations with AntemetA and Singtel, positioning itself to meet evolving regulatory and data residency demands. It further solidified its role as a partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and achieved certification as a Google Cloud Ready Regulated Solutions partner.

“ASEAN organisations face data sovereignty challenges while complying with stringent regulations," said Lim Hsin Yin, vice president of sales for the ASEAN Region. "The enhancements across our portfolio will empower enterprise customers to meet residency mandates and harden AI infrastructures against emerging threats.”
In terms of security, Cohesity's updated threat detection capabilities focus on both early identification of malicious activity and the restoration of systems to known good states. Key advancements include integrated threat scanning for both self-managed and dark-site environments, which ensures resilience even in isolated deployments.
Cohesity Data Security Posture Management (DSPM)
In a related development, Cohesity announced the launch of its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), powered by Cyera. This solution is designed to address the rising risks associated with AI adoption. As sensitive data proliferates across cloud, SaaS, and AI workflows, Cohesity DSPM facilitates continuous discovery, classification, and monitoring of sensitive data.

Highlighting the importance of data security, Cohesity CEO and president, Sanjay Poonen said: “In the era of cloud and agentic AI, it is essential to secure data before an attack occurs. By launching Cohesity DSPM, we bring best-in-class data security posture management into our cyber resilience platform, aiding organisations in reducing exposure and ensuring rapid recovery.”

Yotam Segev, co-founder and CEO of Cyera, echoed these sentiments, stating, “Cyber resilience starts with an understanding of your data, because you cannot protect or recover what you cannot see.”
Facilitating innovation through enhanced security
Cohesity's new features not only aim to bolster organisational security but also support business innovation. The Cohesity Gaia Catalog allows teams to access and leverage protected data from analytics platforms seamlessly, thus promoting the integration of AI into core business functions.
To further enhance accessibility, Cohesity is introducing simplified pricing and packaging with Cohesity Essentials, tailored specifically for midsize organisations. This initiative aims to deliver enterprise-grade cyber resilience capabilities without the complexities typically associated with larger solutions.

Omdia's principal analyst, Todd Thiemann, emphasised the necessity for scalable visibility into data estates in the age of AI. He stated, “Enterprises that suffered successful ransomware attacks look to better data classification and protection as top areas for improvement.”
Cohesity's latest advancements reinforce its commitment to providing comprehensive data security solutions, enabling organisations across the ASEAN region to confidently innovate while maintaining robust cybersecurity postures.
