Around 64% of organisations in Singapore reported a cyberattack that prevented access to data within the past 12 months, raising concerns over cyber threats as it tops the list of causes of organisational disruption and with the monetary impact reaching $1.4 million on average globally.

Lucas Salter

“In times when cyber attacks grow in frequency and sophistication, customers need holistic data protection strategy with an integrated portfolio of solutions to improve their cyber resilience,” said Lucas Salter, the general manager of Data Protection Solutions of Dell Technologies for Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China.

Lack of confidence

According to Dell Technologies’ Global Data Protection Index (GDPI), 77% of organisations surveyed worry about the incapacity of their existing data protection measures against ransomware threats.

The survey of 1,500 IT and IT security decision-makers from a wide range of public and private industries revealed that 64% are not very confident in their ability to recover after a cyberattack.

Proactive cybersecurity strategies

The study revealed that organisations have become more proactive in strengthening their cybersecurity strategies through hiring professional services (55%), conducting regular cyber recovery testing (51%), and deploying a cyber vault with physical and logical separation from production data. (40%)
